We had a fun and refreshingly new world event in the form of the zombie invasion in World of Warcraft recently. This event is a preamble to the coming of the Lich King and was a welcome change to many, a source of frustration to some.
Players got themselves infected by the plague by inspecting suspicious crates, bashing infected creatures, or getting their brains eaten by zombies. Some towns were overrun by plague zombies, infecting all players and NPCs. This leads to a bit of complaints from players who just want to play in peace. Though the event has led to some griefing in low-level areas, an undead change of pace is always nice in a static world.
As of today, the plague has been reported to be cured but Blizzard promises more in the days to come.
